I am Alejandra Mantecón del Olmo.
I’m a simultaneous interpreter, translator, and communication consultant with more than 15 years of experience and over 1,500 conferences and events interpreted across 24 countries. I also run A&J Communication Consultants, where I coordinate a trusted network of linguists providing translation and interpreting services into EU languages (and quite a few non‑EU ones as well).
Over the years, my work has taken me to negotiation rooms, plenary halls, board meetings, and civil society spaces across Europe and beyond. I’ve accompanied Heads of State and Government, interpreted during international trade negotiations, supported the creation of European Works Councils, and helped NGOs, think tanks, and private individuals make their voices heard within the international organisations in Brussels. No matter the setting, what drives me is the same: enabling people to understand one another clearly, respectfully, and confidently.
My clients describe me as responsive, reliable, and their go‑to person for multilingual events and documents. My colleagues say I’m a perfectionist, a strong team player, and that integrity is my compass. I say I’m passionate about language, fascinated by people, and committed to delivering work that is precise, ethical, and genuinely helpful.
I hold degrees in Translation and Interpreting and in English Language and Culture from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and I’m a sworn translator appointed by Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Above all, I’m someone who cares deeply about communication as a tool for inclusion, accessibility, and human connection.
